Birmingham Iron vs. SD Fleet – Game 6

Game Six for the San Diego Fleet. This weekend they played host to the Birmingham Iron. This was set to be a defensive contest with both teams boasting impressive defensive stats. However, it was the Iron that scored first and appeared as if they would run away with the game. It wasn’t until some brilliant catch and runs by Dontez Ford that kept the Fleet within reach. As time was running out in the fourth quarter, the Fleet had tied the game up at 29pts. In a reversal from last weekend, the Iron controlled the ball and as time expired, Iron kicker Nick Novak drilled a 44-yard field goal to win the game 32-29. The Fleet are now 3-3 as they head into Arizona.
